GREENVILLE, Texas - May 14, 2025 – Sphero, Inc., the leader in programmable robots and hands-on STEM learning tools, is thrilled to open registration for Season 6 of the Sphero Global Challenge. This year’s theme, “Sphero Global Challenge: Outdoor Adventures,” takes participants on a national park-themed coding and robotics journey to spark curiosity, teamwork, and creativity through hands-on learning.

“We're excited to bring the Sphero Global Challenge back for its sixth season,” says Nate Ubowski, Senior Product Manager at Sphero. “Through the lens of outdoor adventures and national park-themed Events, we’re inspiring participants to explore coding and robotics while tackling challenges that mirror real-world problems in nature. Whether you’re just starting out or already a skilled coder, this program is designed to make everyone feel included and capable. It’s about working together, being creative, and having fun as we solve problems that truly matter.”

With Events for grades PK–8, team coaches will bring each Mission Objective to life in fun and creative ways. The Sphero Global Challenge continues to be an accessible learning platform where students develop essential career-readiness skills while exploring real-world applications of technology to solve problems.

Three New Exciting Events for Season 6

This year’s Challenge features three new specialized Events, including:

the Sphero Global Challenge indi park ranger event logo

indi Park Rangers (Early Elementary PK–3): In this screen-free event, students will use color tiles to program indi as they explore both real and imagined parks. Working in teams, they'll guide indi on a cross-park adventure, create features like rivers and playgrounds, and design a custom world for a ranger mission.

The Sphero Global Challenge BOLT+ Wilderness Survival event logo.

BOLT+ Wilderness Survival (Upper Elementary & Middle School 4–8): Get ready for a high-energy STEM challenge! In this action-packed adventure, students will team up to program BOLT+ to brave the wild, engineer shelters, gather critical supplies, and send out rescue signals using Blueprint Engineering. It’s survival, strategy, and innovation—all rolled into one unforgettable mission!

The Sphero Global Challenge RVR+ Rescue Vehicle Event logo

RVR+ Rescue Vehicle (Upper Elementary & Middle School 4–8): Step into the boots of a park ranger on patrol! Navigate rugged terrain, scan for fire zones, and clear debris using the power of RVR+. Combine mechanical builds with precision coding for a hands-on mission.

These Events can seamlessly integrate into educators’ existing curricula, aligning with STEM and cross-curricular educational standards, while creating a collaborative, hands-on learning experience.
